How preventive lift maintenance improves safety

1 min read

A lift is one of the most-used pieces of equipment in any building. Regular, planned maintenance keeps it safe, reliable and compliant with regulations — and it costs far less than emergency repairs and long periods out of service.

What a maintenance visit covers

  • Safety devices, brakes and door sensors are tested.
  • Ropes, guides and moving parts are inspected, cleaned and lubricated.
  • Controls, emergency lighting and the alarm are checked.
  • Wear is recorded so parts can be replaced before they fail.

Fewer breakdowns, less downtime

Most breakdowns start as small faults that a technician can spot early. Catching them during a scheduled visit means the lift stays in service and residents, staff or customers are not left waiting.
